Thousands of flights are made every year from Fethiye’s world-famous Babadağı, which is considered one of the best paragliding centers in the world. It is the first choice of those who want to watch Ölüdeniz from a bird’s eye view, watch the turquoise sea and explore the unique geography with an exciting activity.

In the back of my mind for years was the question “Can I paraglide?” This time I managed to paraglide without any questions. Since many people ask questions such as how to paraglide, how to do it, I wrote this exciting experience for you.

Paragliding, which has international popularity, is performed regularly in Fethiye Ölüdeniz Babadağ. Babadağ has 4 tracks: 1200, 1700, 1800 and an altitude of 1960 meters. Experienced Pilots decide to take off from the runway according to weather and wind conditions, because take-off occurs with the wind lift method.

First of all, you will purchase the flight service. Then, a wonderful 30-minute journey will begin from Ölüdeniz to Babadağ, depending on your flight time, with the transfer vehicle of the relevant company.

I would also like to clarify one of the issues that everyone makes misinterpretations about. Never believe those who say you should jump off a cliff! I realized this when I came to the track. Paragliding begins with the instructor and passenger slowly taking off from the slope by walking or running, depending on the wind conditions.

Since we are a nation with serious concerns about security, one of the most frequently asked questions is whether paragliding is safe. Paragliding, a very low-risk sport, can occasionally encounter news such as wind or fatal incidents. For individual paragliding, it is necessary to complete a long and difficult training. Most of the flights that cause accidents are caused by people trying to fly alone and without adequate training.

During the flight, devices such as phones, professional cameras and smoking are not allowed. This type of equipment is banned because it can cause accidents. The GoPro carried by your instructor pilot during the flight will be sufficient for beautiful photographs.

The maximum weight limit for men is 100 kg and for women is 90 kg. Children under the age of 4 and pregnant women are not accepted for paragliding. Stay in the air is approximately 25 – 35 minutes. Be sure to wear sneakers and take sunglasses with you while paragliding. In addition, the choice of shorts or trousers is left to the individual’s initiative.

Belcekız Beach is the last stop of paragliding. The area right next to the beach is reserved for paragliding. A soft landing takes place according to the instructor’s instructions. You complete the flight process with the help of those working on the runway and the eagerness to go up again begins.
